## Synopsis

Ice Road Truckers (2007-present) is a Canadian and American reality docuseries that airs on History. Created by Léo Matthès, it follows a group of working drivers, including Alex Debogorski, Hugh Rowland, Rick Yemm and Lisa Kelly, as they haul equipment and supplies to remote mines across the frozen Canadian tundra out of Yellowknife. The engine of each episode is simple and relentless: a driver must deliver a heavy load along a 350-mile highway of ice, where cracks, whiteouts and failing equipment threaten every run. Each season is a sequence of hauls strung together into a continuing portrait of a single winter, with the emotional weight carried by the drivers' camaraderie and their willingness to keep going despite the risk. The tone is tense and matter-of-fact, with bursts of awe at the sheer cold and the scale of the landscape. Shape and scale are long-running, with twelve seasons and well over a hundred episodes built around the same unforgiving season. Fans of Deadliest Catch and Gold Rush will find the same blend of working-life grit and remote hazard here.
