## Synopsis

Pan Am is a single-season period drama set in the glamorous jet age of the 1960s, following pilots, stewardesses and ground staff of Pan American World Airways, the world's most famous airline. Its tone is nostalgic, breezy and optimistic, with a sheen of golden-age glamour around air travel. Each episode mixes in-air emergencies and layovers in exotic cities with romantic entanglements, workplace rivalries and ambitions that follow the crew around the globe. Women characters navigate a professional world that expects them to stay polished and pleasant while the era's social shifts quietly press against those expectations. The production design, costumes and vivid color palette make the series a visual treat for viewers who love period settings. Its emotional pull lies in friendship, longing and the pleasure of watching people chase careers and love across a vanished world. Fourteen episodes aired before cancellation, leaving many threads open and the story unresolved. Fans of Mad Men and other polished period dramas will find much to enjoy here, though the series is lighter in tone and less interested in dark introspection.
