## Synopsis

Hart of Dixie (2011-2015) is an American small-town dramedy created by Leila Gerstein for The CW. Rachel Bilson plays Zoe Hart, a polished New York doctor whose surgical ambitions fall apart, forcing her to take a job at a small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Her days are spent treating farmers, gossiping locals and an uncooperative town mayor, while her romantic life becomes tangled between a charming local lawyer played by Scott Porter and a handsome bar owner played by Wilson Bethel. Jaime King and Tim Matheson fill out the town's social and medical life as Lemon Breeland and Dr. Brick Breeland. Across four seasons, the show moves through episodic town dilemmas and a steadily building romantic storyline, with the fish out of water premise providing most of its comedy. The mood is warm, breezy and gently comic, with a sweet southern atmosphere that rewards viewers who enjoy romance and community life. Fans of Northern Exposure, Gilmore Girls and Doc Martin will find the same blend of quirky small town charm and romantic comedy.
