## Synopsis

2 Broke Girls (2011-2017) is a US multi-camera sitcom created by Whitney Cummings and Michael Patrick King for CBS. The series follows Max Black (Kat Dennings), a street-smart waitress who grew up rough, and Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs), a former socialite whose family fortune has collapsed, as they work the late shifts at a Williamsburg, Brooklyn diner. Their engine is simple and relentless: they want to raise enough money to open their own successful cupcake business, and every episode finds a new way for their poverty, pride and mismatched personalities to get in the way. Earl Washington (Garrett Morris), the diner's gruff owner, and Han Lee (Matthew Moy), the cook, supply the workplace friction and running gags, while Jennifer Coolidge plays the eccentric Sophie Kachinsky for many seasons. The show spans six seasons across 137 episodes in a case-of-the-week format driven by a continuing business goal. Its tone is brash, quick and joke-dense, with a warm core of female friendship beneath the barbs. Fans of Waitress, Superstore and Broad City will find resonance in its blue-collar setting, sharp banter and working-class humor.
