## Synopsis

Full Metal Panic! (2002-2018) is a Japanese anime series created as a light novel adaptation and produced by GONZO and Kyoto Animation for Fuji TV. Elite soldier Sousuke Sagara (Tomokazu Seki) enters a suburban high school undercover, assigned by the counter-terrorist unit Mithril to protect popular student Kaname Chidori (Satsuki Yukino) from terrorists hunting her rare abilities. His mission engine is simple but constantly interrupted: he must keep Kaname safe while pretending to be an ordinary teenager, dodging classmates, teachers and his own awkward feelings. Episodes alternate slapstick school comedy with sudden bursts of mecha combat in towering Arm Slave machines, and the tension between everyday routine and armed conflict drives much of the humor. Across four seasons totaling sixty episodes, the story expands its cast of Mithril operatives and rivals, with supporting roles voiced by Michiko Neya and Ikue Kimura. The tone is playful and romantic, with action moments that land hard. Fans of Gurren Lagann, Strike Witches and Kampfer will find resonance in its blend of mecha spectacle, teen romance and military-themed comedy. A shonen-leaning seinen take on the mecha genre, it rewards viewers who enjoy wry, character-driven adventure with a steady stream of explosive set pieces.
