## Synopsis

Da Vinci's Inquest (1998-2005) is a Canadian dramatic crime series created by Chris Haddock for CBC Television. Nicholas Campbell plays Dominic Da Vinci, a former undercover RCMP officer who has become a crusading coroner in Vancouver. He is determined to uncover the truth behind each death he examines, even when official channels want the case closed. Gwynyth Walsh plays his ex-wife and chief pathologist Patricia Da Vinci, whose scientific precision and personal history with him create constant friction and loyalty. Donnelly Rhodes as detective Leo Shannon and Ian Tracey as detective Mick Leary round out the principal cast, working the cases alongside the coroner's office. Each season of thirteen episodes is built around a case-of-the-week structure, with autopsy room scenes, police interviews and street-level investigation filling every hour. The tone is gritty, grounded and morally serious, with a rain-soaked West Coast atmosphere and a sober focus on the dignity of victims. Seven seasons and ninety-one episodes give the series a steady, procedural rhythm. Fans of Quincy, M.E., Homicide: Life on the Street and Bones will find resonance in its forensic focus and humane investigative drama.
