## Synopsis

Torchwood: Web of Lies (2011) is a British science fiction conspiracy companion series produced by BBC Worldwide Productions and distributed by STARZ. Set in 2011 Los Angeles during the events of the Miracle Day storyline, it follows Holly Mokri (Eliza Dushku), whose brother is shot but cannot die, and who sets out to learn what he knew and why he was silenced. Her investigation draws in Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles), whose threads connect the present-day crisis to earlier events in the Torchwood universe. The series is a single season of ten very short episodes, each around three minutes, forming one continuing mystery rather than standalone cases. Its engine is a race to uncover a hidden organization before the investigators themselves are silenced. The tone is tense and paranoid, with a dark, procedural edge and moments of violence. Fans of Torchwood, The Leftovers and Fringe will find resonance in its blend of covert agencies, uncanny mortality and institutional secrecy. The result is a compact, bleak puzzle that rewards attentive viewing.
