## Synopsis

Time Goes By (2010-2013) is a Turkish family saga and national-television melodrama created by Coşkun Irmak for Kanal D. Set in 1960s Turkey, it follows the Akarsu household led by Cemile (Ayça Bingöl) and Ali (Erkan Petekkaya), a couple whose marriage is shaken when Ali begins an affair with Caroline (Wilma Elles), a Dutch woman. The show centers on their four children, including law student Berrin (Yıldız Çağrı Atiksoy), high school students Mete (Aras Bulut İynemli) and Aylin (Farah Zeynep Abdullah), and young Osman (Gün Koper). Its engine is the slow unraveling of a family's bonds as each member navigates loyalty, desire, and the expectations of their community. Across three seasons and roughly 120 episodes of around 100 minutes each, the story unfolds as one continuing serialized narrative, with each episode building on domestic confrontations, secrets, and reconciliations. The tone is emotionally heavy and intimate, blending melodrama with warmth and nostalgia for an earlier era. Viewers who enjoy Dallas, The Thorn Birds, or the long-form family sagas of Turkish television will find familiar resonance in its sprawling domestic stakes.
