## Synopsis

A Gifted Man (2011-2012) is an American network medical drama with supernatural overtones created by Susannah Grant for CBS. Patrick Wilson plays Michael Holt, a talented but self-absorbed surgeon whose professional confidence hides a restless emptiness. His world is pressed on by Jennifer Ehle as Anna Lindberg, a colleague who represents the stakes of his daily work, and Liam Aiken as Milo, a younger presence who anchors the emotional center of the story. The engine of the series is Michael's gradual reckoning: he is visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife, played by Rachelle Lefevre as Kate, who nudges him to question what his skill is for. Each episode pairs a hospital case with a personal dilemma, so surgery scenes and private confessions unfold side by side. Across a single season of sixteen episodes, the show follows that inner shift in a New York City setting, where wealth and ambition meet ordinary suffering. The tone is warm and wistful, with a gentle sense of hope and a steady undercurrent of grief. Fans of Ghost Whisperer and Pushing Daisies will find resonance in its blend of medical storytelling and heavenly fantasy. The series was canceled after its only season, leaving its arc unfinished.
