## Synopsis

Oscar's Oasis (2010) is a French animated comedy series produced by Studio Xilam and TeamTO and aired on Canal+. Its protagonist is Oscar, a lizard voiced by Marie Facundo, who also voices the character Popy, and his companion Buck, voiced by Sly Johnson, who also voices Harchi. Oscar lands in one scrape after another in the middle of a sunbaked desert, with each seven-minute episode built around a simple goal that quickly goes sideways. The engine of the show is physical comedy and escalating silliness, as the pair chase small aims across a wide, sun-drenched landscape and keep tumbling into trouble. Told in bright 3d animation over a single season of 78 short episodes, the series keeps its stories light and self-contained, so each one can be watched on its own. Its tone is cheerful, breezy and gentle, pitched at young children and their families. Fans of Zig and Sharko, Pinky Malinky and The Lion Guard will find a similar kind of playful, family-friendly animated comedy in this bright desert setting, with easy laughs and quick, uncomplicated adventures.
