## Synopsis

Perception (2012-2015) is an American crime drama series created by Kenneth Biller and Michael Sussman for TNT, running three seasons and 39 episodes before its cancellation. Neuroscientist and college professor Dr. Daniel Pierce, played by Eric McCormack, is recruited by the federal government to help crack difficult cases. His deep understanding of human behavior gives him an uncanny ability to read people, yet his eccentric view of the world and awkward social manner often complicate his work. Rachael Leigh Cook plays Kate Moretti, and Kelly Rowan plays Natalie Vincent, both of whom help anchor his investigations alongside Arjay Smith as Max Lewicki and LeVar Burton as Paul Haley. Each episode unfolds as a case of the week, with Pierce working through crime scenes, suspects, and his own perception of reality. The show is a contemporary procedural with a cerebral, unsettling register, where the investigation hinges on how the mind interprets what it sees. Fans of The Mentalist, Monk, and Bones will find resonance in its blend of brilliant outsider detection and psychological puzzle solving.
