## Synopsis

Scent of a Woman (2011) is a South Korean romance drama series created by Noh Ji-sul for SBS. Kim Sun-a plays Lee Yeon-jae, a former pushover who, after learning she has only six months left to live, begins transforming her life. Her new boldness draws her into a romance with the wealthy heir Kang Ji-wook, played by Lee Dong-wook, while Uhm Ki-joon, Seo Hyo-rim and Kim Hye-ok fill out the surrounding family and social circles. The engine of the series is the tension between a short countdown and a love affair that refuses to fit inside it: each episode weighs the demands of Seoul's moneyed families against a heroine who has nothing left to lose. Told across a single run of eighteen episodes, the show unfolds as a serialized Korean melodrama, with emotional set pieces, class-divided rivalries and wrenching confessions. It is set in contemporary Seoul, where glossy apartments and corporate boardrooms contrast with the fragile private world of a woman racing the clock. The tone is tearful, sentimental and romantic, with a strong undercurrent of longing. Fans of Boys Over Flowers, Autumn in My Heart and Full House will find resonance in its blend of wealth, heartache and devotion.
