## Synopsis

The Lost Room (2006) is a American science fiction mystery miniseries created by Christopher Leone for Syfy. Across three ninety-minute episodes, detective Joe Miller (Peter Krause) follows a trail of strange events centered on an ordinary motel room that acts as a doorway to an alternate universe. Julianna Margulies plays Jennifer Bloom, a figure drawn into the case, while Elle Fanning appears as Anna Miller, whose disappearance gives the search its urgency. Joe's investigation is built from concrete clues, odd objects with unexplained powers, and unsettling encounters that push him deeper into the hidden logic of the room. The engine of the story is the hunt for answers and for a missing child, with each discovery exposing new layers of danger. The show is a self-contained, serialized mystery told in a single arc, with a tense, uncanny register and a grounded, everyday setting in present-day America. Its quiet unease and sense of wonder recall the mystery-box storytelling of Fringe and the strange-town dread of Twin Peaks, appealing to viewers who enjoy puzzles with a sci-fi edge. Fans of a closed, tightly focused miniseries will find this a compact, absorbing watch.
