## Synopsis

Death Valley is an American mockumentary supernatural comedy that aired on MTV in 2011 and ran for a single season of twelve episodes before cancellation. It follows a squad of Los Angeles officers assigned to a newly formed Undead Task Force after vampires, werewolves and zombies begin appearing across the streets of California's San Fernando Valley. The engine of the show is the daily grind of this unit: patrols, paperwork, bureaucratic friction with superiors, and the awkward reality of cops who treat monsters as just another beat. Each episode is built around small confrontations with the undead, played with a deadpan, documentary-style eye. The series is set in the present day of its broadcast, in a suburban sprawl where the supernatural has become routine. Its tone is dry, irreverent and occasionally gory, with a sardonic affection for the police genre. Viewers who enjoy the workplace absurdity of The Office or the monster-hunting spectacle of Supernatural will find resonance here, though the single season ends without resolving its central premise.
