## Synopsis

The Exes (2011-2015) is a American network sitcom created by Mark Reisman for TV Land. Three divorced men, including Phil Chase (Donald Faison), Haskell Lutz (Wayne Knight) and Stuart Gardner (David Alan Basche), share an apartment across the hall from Holly Franklin (Kristen Johnston), a divorce attorney who doubles as their landlord. The engine of the show is the comic friction of a tenant household whose members are still recovering from failed marriages, with each episode built around dating mishaps, legal snags and the awkward collisions that happen when their landlord also knows the details of their divorces. Its shape is a straightforward sitcom format across four seasons and sixty-four episodes, mostly self-contained comic stories with ongoing character threads in the shared building. Set in present-day urban America, it leans on breezy dialogue and an ensemble of mismatched adults who keep returning to the same apartment hallway. The tone is light, warm and gently sardonic, with a comfortable rhythm that suits viewers who want a low-stakes sitcom. Fans of Friends, Men Behaving Badly and Night Court will find a similar blend of roommate chaos and workplace-adjacent banter.
