## Synopsis

Fresh Meat (2011-2016) is a British Channel 4 comedy-drama sitcom created by Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain. Six students, including Vod Nordstrom (Zawe Ashton), Oregon Shawcross (Charlotte Ritchie), Josie Jones (Kimberley Nixon), Kingsley Owen (Joe Thomas), and JP Pembersley (Jack Whitehall), are the mismatched housemates of a shared off-campus house in Whalley Range, Manchester, after applying late to university accommodation. Greg McHugh's Howard McGregor, a second year, adds a slightly older perspective. The engine of the show is the everyday friction of shared living: romantic misfires, clashing ambitions, petty rivalries, and the small crises that come with trying to build a life at a university. Each episode gathers the housemates around ordinary student predicaments, while the larger arc follows their friendships as they drift from fresh-faced novices toward the uncertain edge of adulthood. Across four seasons and thirty episodes, the series keeps a warm, self-conscious comic register, with cringe moments balanced against genuine affection. Fans of The Inbetweeners, Spaced and Friday Night Dinner will find resonance in its sharp British humour and its portrait of young friendship.
