## Synopsis

The Dead Files is an American reality paranormal investigation series that aired on the Travel Channel from 2011 to 2022 across fifteen seasons. Psychic medium Amy Allan and former NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi visit homes, businesses and other sites where residents report unexplained activity. Her intuitive readings are paired with his methodical interviews of current and former occupants, as he treats each claim like a case to be checked against testimony and records. Each episode is a self-contained case file built around one location, with the pair walking the property, questioning witnesses and piecing together a local history that may account for the reported activity. Cast member Cindy Kaza appears in supporting roles across the run. The format stays consistent from season to season, moving steadily from one site to the next with an investigative rhythm rather than dramatic reinvention. The tone is earnest and skeptical, balancing creeping unease with the grounded logic of a detective who wants evidence before belief. Viewers drawn to ghost hunting programs, haunted house stories and case-driven true crime-adjacent investigations will find the appeal familiar, though the show leans more on interviews and case files than on night-vision exploration.
