## Synopsis

The Fades (2011) is a British supernatural drama miniseries created by Jack Thorne for BBC Three. Seventeen-year-old Paul (Iain De Caestecker) can see the spirits of the dead, a gift that sets him apart in an ordinary British city. When one restless spirit crosses back into the living world, Paul is pulled into a struggle against a hidden celestial conflict and is forced to act before the threat grows into an apocalypse. Mac Armstrong (Daniel Kaluuya) and the wider cast of grieving families and unsettled officials surround him as the stakes escalate. The series runs for a single six-episode season, with each hour building a tense, serialized mystery. Its tone is gritty and melancholic, with dread woven into the everyday texture of working-class British life. Fans of Being Human, Supernatural and Misfits will find resonance in its mix of youthful angst, ghostly mythology and grounded, urban unease.
