## Synopsis

Primeval: New World (2012-2013) is a Canadian-British science fiction adventure series created by Mike Rohl, Amanda Tapping and Martin Wood, broadcast on Space. A North American spin-off of the British hit Primeval, it follows a specialized team of animal experts and scientists led by Evan Cross (Niall Matter) and Dylan Weir (Sara Canning), with Mac Rendell (Danny Rahim), Toby Nance (Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe) and Ange Finch (Miranda Frigon) rounding out the core group. Their engine is simple and relentless: each time a temporal anomaly rips open, they must track down whatever has stepped through, whether a prehistoric predator or a futuristic creature, and contain it before it does damage. The single season of thirteen 42-minute episodes plays as a brisk, mostly case-of-the-week creature hunt, with a loose serialized thread running beneath the monsters. The tone is pulpy and kinetic, with action set pieces and a playful sense of wonder about the past and future colliding in the present. Set in a contemporary North American city, it has the monster-spectacle appeal of Primeval and the adventure energy of Terra Nova, suited to viewers who enjoy dinosaurs, time-travel mishaps and team-based rescue missions. Fans of Primeval, Terra Nova and Warehouse 13 will find familiar pleasures here.
