## Synopsis

Steins;Gate (2011) is a Japanese animated science fiction series produced by White Fox and broadcast on Teletama and Sun TV. Its self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintaro Okabe (Mamoru Miyano) and his friends Mayuri Shiina (Kana Hanazawa) and Itaru Hashida (Tomokazu Seki) tinker with a customized microwave that can send text messages into the past. Each experiment carries a cost, and their small lab in Akihabara draws the attention of SERN, a secret organization researching time travel. Kurisu Makise (Asami Imai), a skeptical neuroscientist, and Suzuha Amane (Yukari Tamura) add further pressure as the group tries to avoid capture while understanding what their changes have done. The single season of twenty-four episodes is one continuing story in which order matters, built on mystery, conspiracy, and emotional stakes. Its tone shifts between goofy lab comedy and anxious paranoia, with a melancholic undercurrent. Fans of Dark, Ghost in the Shell and Stranger Things will find resonance in its blend of technology, conspiracy and personal loss, all set in present-day Tokyo.
