## Synopsis

Detroit Metal City (2008) is a Japanese adult animated comedy series created by Kiminori Wakasugi and produced by STUDIO4℃, adapted from the manga of the same name. Across twelve short episodes of roughly fourteen minutes each, it follows Souichi Negishi, a soft-spoken college graduate who adores Swedish pop and would rather be anywhere else, but who performs nightly as Johannes Krauser II, the demonic and garishly theatrical frontman of Detroit Metal City, a death metal band with a devoted following. Voice performances by Yuji Ueda as Souichi and Kenichi Matsuyama as bandmate Makoto Hokazono anchor the cast, along with Riki Takeuchi as the bandleader.
