## Synopsis

X-Men (2011) is a Japanese animated superhero series created for ANIMAX, a Japanese anime adaptation of Marvel's mutant team. Cyclops (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa) and Wolverine (voiced by Rikiya Koyama) lead the X-Men, still grieving the death of Phoenix, as they search northern Japan for a missing mutant girl. Their investigation exposes a mysterious virus that turns mutants into monsters, and rival factions led by U-Men and the Inner Circle want it for themselves. Charles Xavier (voiced by Katsunosuke Hori), Storm (voiced by Aya Hisakawa), Beast (voiced by Hideyuki Tanaka) and Emma Frost (voiced by Kaori Yamagata) round out the cast. The series runs a single season of twelve half-hour episodes, a serialized action story where each episode pushes the hunt forward through battles and shifting alliances. The tone is brisk and action-driven, with a sense of loss running beneath the spectacle. Set in present-day Japan, it sits in the vein of Marvel's animated superhero shows, with fans of Teen Titans and X-Men: Evolution likely to find familiar team dynamics and mutant conflict. Viewers who enjoy anime-styled superhero action will find its compact arc easy to follow.
