## Synopsis

Those Who Kill (2011) is a Danish crime drama series created by Stefan Jaworski and Elsebeth Egholm for TV 2. Adapted from an original idea by bestselling Danish novelist Elsebeth Egholm, this ten-episode single season follows a special unit inside Copenhagen's police force. Detective inspector Katrine Ries Jensen (Laura Bach) and forensic psychiatrist Thomas Schaeffer (Jakob Cedergren) investigate serial killers whose crimes refuse to fit traditional behavioural patterns, so each case demands that the detective and the psychiatrist read the killer's mind as much as the crime scene. Episodes run about forty-four minutes and build a chilling, methodical investigation around the pair's clashing methods and the personal cost of staring into violent minds. Lars Mikkelsen joins the investigation as a key presence, and the procedural grounds the tension in ordinary Copenhagen streets and police corridors. The tone is cold, brooding and psychologically intense, with the atmosphere of Nordic noir. Fans of The Killing, The Bridge and Hannibal will find resonance in its dark procedural mood and its focus on the minds behind the murders.
