## Synopsis

Eternal Law (2012) is a British supernatural legal drama series created by Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham for ITV1. Samuel West plays Zak Gist, one of two angels sent to contemporary England disguised as lawyers with a mandate to help humankind. Orla Brady appears as Mrs. Sheringham, and Hattie Morahan as Hannah, with Tobias Menzies as Richard Pembroke and Ukweli Roach as Thomas Greening rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the series is the angels' quiet attempts to nudge ordinary people through difficult legal and personal troubles, with each hour built around a client's case that carries a moral weight beyond the courtroom. Presented as a single season of six hour-long episodes, it is a contained, self-sufficient run rather than a sprawling saga. Its register is earnest and melancholic, with a wry, understated approach to its fantastical premise. Set in present-day England, it tells its stories against recognizable workplaces and city streets. Fans of Good Omens, Silk and Pushing Daisies will find resonance in its blend of British character drama, quirky celestial whimsy and ethical storytelling.
