## Synopsis

Danger 5 (2012-2015) is an Australian spy spoof created by Dario Russo and David Ashby for SBS and SBS 2. Across two seasons and thirteen short episodes, a squad of the finest spies the Allies have to offer, led by Jackson (David Ashby) with the sharp-tongued Tucker (Sean James Murphy) and the resourceful Ilsa (Natasa Ristic), pursues a mission to kill Adolf Hitler. Carmine Russo plays Hitler himself, and Tilman Vogler plays Colonel Chestbridge, whose orders keep the operation lurching forward. Each episode is built from ridiculous gadgets, bungled infiltrations, and escalating set pieces, and the story moves forward through the team's repeated failures. The world is a bizarre, 1960s-inspired take on the wartime years, with retrofuturist design and a cheerfully deranged sense of period. The tone is irreverent, breezy, and absurdist, with the energy of a gleefully violent cartoon rather than a grounded war story. Fans of Archer, Get Smart, and Inglourious Basterds will find kinship in its mix of pulp espionage and mocking, anachronistic humor. It is a short, quick watch best suited to viewers who enjoy spoofs that take liberties with history.
