## Synopsis

Kidnap and Ransom (2011-2012) is a British television thriller series created for ITV, starring Trevor Eve as hostage negotiator Dominic King, who also served as executive producer. Across two short series of three episodes each, King and his team confront kidnappings and ransom demands, with the protagonist's calm, methodical negotiating pushed against the danger of each case and the strain it places on his personal life. The episodes are built around concrete crisis work: phone calls with captors, tense hours in operations rooms, and cases that reach beyond Britain, including a South African storyline. Co-stars John Hannah, Emma Fielding, Helen Baxendale and Amara Karan support Eve in the central cast. The tone is tense, grounded and sober, with a steady sense of unease rather than spectacle. Viewers who enjoy British espionage drama such as Spooks, or hostage and crisis dramas like Hostages, will find the same blend of procedural tension and personal cost. The show is a short, self-contained run that was canceled before its story could fully develop, leaving several threads open for the audience to ponder.
