## Synopsis

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (2004-2005) is a Japanese animated coming-of-age drama series produced by Madhouse and broadcast on TV Tokyo, adapted from the manga BECK. The story follows Koyuki Tanaka (voiced by Daisuke Namikawa), a listless young man whose uneventful life is jolted when he meets Ryusuke Minami (Yuuma Ueno), a local musician with a sharp temper and a love for foreign rock. Ryusuke pulls Koyuki into the guitar and into the making of a band, and the series is built from rehearsals, friendships, and the tense, exhilarating build-up to live performances that can go wrong at any moment. Supporting characters including Maho (Miho Saiki), Taira (Kenji Nojima), and Chiba (Shintarou Oohata) widen the circle of bandmates and rivals. Across a single season of twenty-six episodes, the show moves at an easygoing pace punctuated by bursts of raw energy. Its tone is warm and wistful, with a rock-and-roll restlessness and a sincere look at youthful ambition. Fans of Kids on the Slope, Nodame Cantabile, and Bocchi the Rock! will find a similar blend of music, camaraderie, and self-discovery.
