## Synopsis

Longmire (2012-2017) is a American western crime drama series created by John Coveny and Hunt Baldwin for A&E, later streaming on Netflix. Robert Taylor plays Sheriff Walt Longmire, a widowed lawman in a remote Wyoming county who is rebuilding his life and his career after losing his wife. Katee Sackhoff co-stars as his sharp-tongued deputy Victoria Moretti, while Lou Diamond Phillips plays Henry Standing Bear, his longtime friend from the nearby reservation, and Cassidy Freeman appears as his daughter Cady. The engine of the show is simple and steady: Walt answers homicides, missing persons and feuds across a sparse county where everyone knows everyone, and each season balances a central mystery with personal stakes and friction over tribal and county jurisdiction. Across six seasons and sixty-three episodes it works as one continuing story rather than isolated cases. Set in present-day high plains Wyoming, the series has a patient, weathered atmosphere of open landscapes, frontier stoicism and quiet loyalty, with a melancholic undertow and a warm sense of community. Fans of Justified, Walker, Texas Ranger and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its blend of rural crime, character-driven drama and small town mystery.
