## Synopsis

Sandokan (1976) is a European co-produced adventure miniseries created for Rai 1 and ORTF Télévision, presented as a six-part, one-season run of hour-long episodes. Indian actor Kabir Bedi stars as the noble prince Sandokan, a formidable fighter who is ruthless toward his enemies yet unwaveringly loyal to his friends. Philippe Leroy plays his closest companion Yanez de Gomera, and Carole Andre appears as Lady Marianna Guillonk, a figure caught up in the colonial intrigue surrounding the prince. The engine of the story is Sandokan's struggle against British colonial powers and the rivals who oppose him, with each episode built around clashes at sea, shifting alliances, and daring escapes. Set in a lush, sun-drenched tropical world of pirate fleets and colonial rivalry, the series carries a bold, romantic register of swashbuckling heroism and steadfast friendship. Its tone is earnest and sweeping, with the grand scale of a classic seafaring adventure. Fans of The Count of Monte Cristo, The Adventures of Robin Hood, and Pirates of the Caribbean will find resonance in its honor-bound outlaw hero and its exotic, action-driven storytelling.
