## Synopsis

Chicago Fire (2012-present) is an American NBC drama series created by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, a long-running procedural about the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. Lieutenant Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) lead crews that charge into burning buildings, car wrecks and collapses when everyone else runs the other way, while Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Joe Cruz (Joe Miñoso) anchor the firehouse with experience and loyalty. Each episode is built around a fresh emergency that the crew must resolve in real time, and the stakes of those calls spill over into the crew's marriages, friendships and rivalries. The show runs as a continuing ensemble saga across fifteen seasons, with its firehouse life and personal arcs developing week to week. The tone is earnest, urgent and warm, with a strong sense of brotherhood and the emotional cost of rescue work. Set in present-day Chicago, the series has the bright, noisy energy of a network drama, and it will appeal to viewers who enjoy Rescue Me, Third Watch and Chicago Med in the vein of emergency-services ensemble television.
