## Synopsis

Burning Love (2012-2013) is an American web comedy series created as a parody spoof of televised dating competitions, with Ken Marino as fireman Mark Orlando, the bachelor of the first season, and June Diane Raphael reprising her role as the contestant Julie, who becomes the bachelorette in the second season. Michael Ian Black and Natasha Leggero also appear among the contestants. Ben Stiller serves as executive co-producer. Across three seasons of fourteen episodes each, the show follows a lovelorn lead searching for the perfect mate from a pool of rivals, then flips to contestants crammed into a mansion competing for a cash prize rather than love. Each episode is built from exaggerated confessionals, rigged dates and escalating humiliations that mirror the conventions of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad. The tone is breezy, sardonic and irreverent, with a deadpan edge that lets the absurdity of the format carry the jokes. Fans of The Bachelor, Party Down and Childrens Hospital will find resonance in its playful satire of reality romance, its committed deadpan performances and its short, sharp episodes that make for easy, light viewing.
