## Synopsis

The Booth at the End (2011-2012) is a US anthology psychological thriller created by Christopher Kubasik and aired on Citytv. Across two seasons of ten episodes, a mysterious man sits in a booth at the end of a diner, where desperate people come to bargain for whatever they most want. Each visitor is handed a task, and the central engine is the choice itself: whether to carry out a demanding and possibly ugly act, or walk away, with no rule changes to soften the cost. Cheryl, Willem, Bobby, Doris, Melody, Dillon, Theresa, Jack, Henry and Allen, played by Michelle Dunker, Matt Boren, Brendan Chadd Thomas, Jenni Blong, Jennifer Del Rosario, Noel Fisher, Abby Miller, Dayton Callie, Danny Nucci and Jack Conley, move through stories that are built on pressure, money trouble and temptation. The tone is introspective and unsettling, with a slow, claustrophobic mood and dread that comes from ordinary people weighing their conscience against their needs. Fans of The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror and Tales from the Crypt will find resonance in its self-contained moral parables and eerie, morally ambiguous stakes.
