## Synopsis

Farscape (1999-2003) is an Australian-American science fiction adventure series created by Rockne S. O'Bannon and produced with The Jim Henson Company for the Nine Network and Syfy. Astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder) is catapulted through a wormhole during an experimental mission and lands in a vast alien battlefield, where he joins a fugitive crew aboard a living starship. Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black), a disciplined soldier who is torn between duty and loyalty, becomes his most important companion, while Ka D'Argo (Anthony Simcoe) provides fierce loyalty and Chiana (Gigi Edgley) brings restless mischief. Pursued by the ruthless Scorpius (Wayne Pygram), Crichton struggles to get home while every episode is built around escape, shifting alliances, and dangerous encounters across distant planets. The four-season run is one continuing serialized story, so the arcs accumulate rather than reset. The show mixes practical puppetry and creature design with boisterous humor and a lonely undertone of exile. Fans of Stargate SG-1, Firefly and Battlestar Galactica will find resonance in its blend of rough-edged space opera, found family and the longing for home.
