## Synopsis

Second Spring (1998-2001) is a Turkish family drama series created by Sulhi Dölek for ATV, running three seasons and 37 episodes. Türkan Şoray plays Hanım Meriç and Şener Şen plays Ali Haydar Suruç, whose tentative romance in middle age becomes the emotional center of a crowded household. Settar Tanrıöğen, Tarık Papuççuoğlu and Nedim Saban play relatives whose loyalties and grudges complicate every step toward a new life together, while Güven Hokna, Özkan Uğur and Yasemin Baştan anchor the wider family circle. Each episode builds from everyday domestic friction, such as in-law disputes, inheritance pressures and the quiet negotiations of blending two households, into longer arcs about pride, regret and the courage to begin again. The series moves at a measured pace and carries a wistful, comforting register with moments of sharp humor. Set in contemporary Turkey among urban middle-class families, it is the kind of long-form household melodrama that fans of The Golden Girls and Grace and Frankie will find resonance in, along with the generational warmth of Dallas. Its reruns on Fox TV and Star TV extended its reach well beyond the original broadcast.
