## Synopsis

What is Fatmagul's Fault? (2010-2012) is a Turkish national-television melodrama series created by Vedat Türkali for Kanal D. Beren Saat stars as Fatmagül Ketenci, a simple, happy village girl whose life is shattered when four drunk rich young men violate her. Engin Akyürek plays Kerim Ilgaz, and Buğra Gülsoy plays Vural Namlı, both entangled in the aftermath, while Kaan Taşaner and Engin Öztürk anchor the wealthy Yaşaran family whose privilege shields the attackers. The engine of the series is Fatmagül's struggle against an extreme hardship: she is forced to marry one of her attackers, and every episode turns on the pressure of family honor, social standing, and the courtroom battle that follows. The story unfolds across two seasons and eighty episodes of one continuing narrative, with each installment built from confrontations, secret loyalties, and slow reckonings. Its tone is heavy and emotionally raw, foregrounding injustice, grief, and the remorse of onlookers who failed to act. Fans of Ezel, Kara Sevda, and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its blend of social conscience and domestic melodrama.
