## Synopsis

Forbidden Love (2013-2015) is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Telemundo Television Studios for Telemundo, a US network. It is a modern-day remake of the Turkish series Aşk-ı Memnu, adapted from Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil's 1900 novel, and relocated to contemporary Miami. Jencarlos Canela plays Bruno Hurtado, whose attraction to Bianca Santillana de Piamonte, played by Mónica Spear, becomes the forbidden center of the story. Roberto Vander, Rebecca Jones and Carmen Aub add principal family members whose loyalties and rivalries shape each new complication. The engine of the series is a web of desire, scandal and secret alliances inside a wealthy household, where every episode layers another betrayal onto the last. Across 107 episodes in a single continuing run, the storytelling moves at the steady pace of the telenovela form, with cliffhangers, reversals and emotional confrontations. The mood is melodramatic and sensual, with glossy high society interiors and a tropical Florida backdrop. Fans of Rubí, Pasión de Gavilanes and La Usurpadora will find the same heightened romance and family turmoil here, served with the lush excess that defines the genre.
