## Synopsis

Beetlejuice (1989-1991) is an American animated family comedy created by Tim Burton and David Geffen for ABC and Fox Kids, a four-season Saturday-morning spin on the Burton film. Preteen goth Lydia Deetz (voiced by Alyson Court) and her undead trickster friend Beetlejuice (voiced by Stephen Ouimette) form an improbable friendship that becomes the engine of each episode: Lydia, who prefers the company of the dead to her mundane suburban life, drags her reluctant pal into scrapes while he schemes his way out of the Neitherworld's bureaucracy. Their adventures unfold across a sprawling afterlife populated by monsters, ghosts, ghouls and zombies, with supporting turns from Ginger (Tabitha St. Germain), the Monster Across the Street (Len Carlson), and Lydia's bickering parents Delia (Elizabeth Hanna) and Charles Deetz (Roger Dunn). Episodes are self-contained, self-paced slapstick romps built on visual gags and wacky monster mishaps rather than genuine fright. The tone is gothic but cozy, playful and silly, with a kid-friendly sense of spooky whimsy throughout. Fans of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and the original Beetlejuice film will find resonance in its macabre humor, mischievous ghosts and goofy monster world.
