## Synopsis

The Return (2013) is a Mexican national-television telenovela created by Valentina Párraga, José Ignacio Cabrujas and Julio César Mármol for Telemundo. Adapted from the Venezuelan telenovela La Dueña, it follows a protagonist who takes on the name of a long-buried rival and returns to a labor field traditionally held by men, where Aracely Arámbula plays Gabriela Suárez and Verónica Dantés. Opposite her, Jorge Luis Pila, Christian Bach, Erika de la Rosa and Diego Soldano play figures tangled in the power struggle. The engine of the series is a contest for authority and respect, with each episode built from boardroom rivalries, shifting alliances, romantic entanglements and hard-fought reversals. Across one season of 128 episodes, the story unfolds as a single continuing serialized melodrama in the classic telenovela tradition. The setting is contemporary Mexico, and the register is melodramatic and emotionally heated, combining ambition, betrayal and sentiment. Fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea, Ugly Betty and Rosalinda will find resonance in its blend of soap intrigue, class tension and a determined heroine navigating a hostile workplace.
