## Synopsis

The Bridge (2011-2018) is a Swedish-Danish co-production crime series created by Hans Rosenfeldt for SVT1, a defining Nordic noir drama. When a body is discovered on the bridge running between Copenhagen and Malmo, right on the national border, Danish inspector Martin Rohde (Kim Bodnia) and Swedish detective Saga Noren (Sofia Helin) must share jurisdiction and work together to find the killer. Saga's rigid, literal manner clashes with Martin's warmth, and the two investigators must navigate rival police bureaucracies, personal wounds, and suspicion on both sides. Each season is a serialized murder investigation built around a new case that connects to wider social and political rot. Other principal characters include Henrik Sabroe (Thure Lindhardt) and Lillian Larsen (Sarah Boberg). Over four seasons and 38 episodes the tone stays cool, austere and melancholic, with tense, grounded procedural work and a sense of dread beneath the surface. Fans of The Killing, Wallender and Broadchurch will find resonance in its brooding atmosphere and morally complicated detectives.
