## Synopsis

Love Generation (1997) is a Japanese romance comedy-drama created for Fuji TV, a single-season run of eleven fifty-two-minute episodes. Takuya Kimura plays Teppei Katagiri, a young office worker who spars constantly with his colleague Riko Uesugi, played by Takako Matsu. Their daily bickering at the workplace hides an attraction that neither wants to admit, and the engine of the series is the slow, awkward process of turning rivalry into a real relationship while coworkers, family expectations and the ordinary friction of corporate life get in the way. Supporting characters, including Seiyo Uchino as Soichiro Katagiri, Risa Junna as Sanae Mizuhara and Norika Fujiwara as Erika Takagi, add complications and romantic rivalries that keep each episode moving. The tone is earnest, breezy and warmly comic, with a wistful, hopeful edge that suits viewers who enjoy sparring-partner romances. Set in 1990s Tokyo, it is a grounded, character-driven slice of office life. Fans of Hotel Ocean and Hanzawa Naoki will find resonance in its mix of workplace drama, romantic comedy and a Japanese television sensibility centred on everyday emotion.
