## Synopsis

Usagi Drop (2011) is a Japanese animated slice of life series created for Fuji TV, adapted from the josei manga and produced by Production I.G. Its protagonist Daikichi Kawachi (voiced by Hiroshi Tsuchida), a thirty-year-old office worker with a full-time job and no interest in marriage, suddenly becomes the guardian of six-year-old Rin Kaga (voiced by Ayu Matsuura) after the death of his grandfather. The engine of the series is the daily scramble of balancing corporate work, household chores, and kindergarten schedules while learning how to be a parent without a playbook. Each episode is built from small domestic obstacles: unfamiliar routines, awkward conversations with relatives, and the slow discovery of what Rin needs. Sachiko Kawachi (voiced by Atsuko Mine) and Reina Maeda (voiced by Nanako Sudou) add supporting perspectives on family and friendship. The eleven-episode single season moves at an unhurried pace and stays grounded in contemporary Tokyo. Its tone is gentle, wistful and quietly funny, with a warm emotional core. Fans of Sazae-san, Three Men and a Baby and Anne with an E will find resonance in its patient, tender look at a household forming around a child.
