## Synopsis

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993-1998) is a American network period drama created by Beth Sullivan for CBS. Its protagonist, Dr. Michaela Quinn (Jane Seymour), travels to Colorado Springs after her father's death to become the town's physician, and she must earn the trust of a wary community and its men. Byron Sully (Joe Lando), a rugged frontiersman, becomes a central figure in her life, while the Cooper brothers Brian (Shawn Toovey) and Matthew (Chad Allen) bring the household and town together. Each episode is built from the everyday demands of frontier medicine: births, injuries, epidemics, and local disputes that test the doctor's resolve and her growing sense of belonging. Running for six seasons and 149 episodes, the series is a serialized period family saga whose story steadily deepens its relationships. Set in 1868 Colorado Springs, it moves at a gentle, measured pace with a warm, hopeful, sincere tone. Its wholesome sense of community and resilience suits fans of Little House on the Prairie and Lonesome Dove who want a heartfelt western with a strong female lead.
