## Synopsis

The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor (1989-1992) is a Japanese animated original video animation series created by Yoshiki Takaya, adapted from his manga Bio-Booster Armor Guyver and produced by Visual 80. Across two seasons of twelve short episodes, the story follows Shou Fukamachi, who is voiced by Takeshi Kusao and becomes Guyver I when an alien bio-booster armor fuses with his body. Tetsuro Segawa (voiced by Kozo Shioya) and Mizuki Segawa (voiced by Yuko Mizutani) are among the principal characters caught between the armored combatants, while Agito Makishima (voiced by Hideyuki Tanaka) and Oswald Lisker (voiced by Norio Wakamoto) join the armored conflict as rival Guyvers. Each episode builds a fight around the armor's transformations and the corporate and alien schemes hiding behind ordinary Japanese cities. The mood is grim and visceral, with gory body horror, monstrous mutations, and a sense of paranoia about who can be trusted. Fans of seinen action horror, suited superhero fights, and mecha-adjacent armor battles will find resonance in the vein of Parasyte: The Maxim, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, and Kamen Rider. The show is an early-1990s OVA with a fast, stylized look and an open ending.
