## Synopsis

Inu X Boku Secret Service (2012) is a Japanese animated supernatural romantic comedy series produced by David Production for MBS. Across a single twelve-episode season of roughly twenty-four minutes each, socially inept high schooler Ririchiyo Shirakiin arrives at the Maison de Ayakashi, a heavily guarded residence rumored to be haunted, where humans with non-human ancestors live in secret. Her protector is secret service bodyguard Soushi Miketsukami, who makes an unusual request of her: to be made her dog. The engine of the show is the uneasy push and pull between Ririchiyo's stubborn pride and Soushi's devoted servitude, as their days are filled with school life, bullying, rival yokai residents, and supernatural threats hidden behind ordinary classroom routines. Each episode mixes lighthearted romcom banter with spirit and demon mischief, and the characters are supported by a colorful house cast. The series is a manga adaptation with a playful, warm tone and a steady undercurrent of loneliness and belonging. Fans of Kamisama Kiss and Mysterious Girlfriend X will find resonance in its blend of supernatural comedy and tender romance.
