## Synopsis

Freakazoid! (1995-1997) is a United States animated superhero parody series created for The WB, produced by Warner Bros. Television and Amblin Television. Its protagonist is Freakazoid, a manic, insane superhero voiced by Paul Rugg, who is hard to keep in one place and battles a rotating array of super villains. Ed Asner voices the gruff Sgt. Cosgrove, and Joe Leahy voices the narrator who keeps interrupting the action to comment on it. Across two seasons and twenty-four episodes of roughly twenty-two minutes each, the engine is pure comedic chaos: a hero whose frantic energy outpaces every plan, colliding with villains and an authority figure who never quite keeps up. Each episode is a standalone case of anarchic gags, pop culture jokes, and sketch-like escalation rather than a continuing story. The tone is breezy, irreverent, and joyfully silly, aimed at kids while rewarding adults who enjoy self-aware, fourth-wall-breaking humor. Fans of Animaniacs, The Tick and Batman: The Animated Series will find resonance in its blend of superhero spoof and cartoon slapstick.
