## Synopsis

Hit the Floor (2013-2018) is an American cable drama series created by James LaRosa for VH1 and BET. Ahsha Hayes (Taylour Paige) defies her former dancer mother Sloane (Kimberly Elise) by trying out for the L.A. Devil Girls, the glamorous dance squad attached to a professional basketball franchise. Her ambition pulls her into a world of rehearsals, tight choreography, competitive rivalries among the dancers, and the backstage politics of a sports team's entertainment business. Jelena Howard (Logan Browning) anchors the squad's ensemble, while Pete Davenport (Dean Cain) represents the franchise power structure, and romance and loyalty complicate every career decision. Each episode centers on a new performance, a new personal entanglement, or a new threat to a dancer's place on the team. Across four seasons the show balances the glossy spectacle of arena nights with the more intimate friction of family and friendship. Its tone is soapy and melodramatic, bright with music and movement yet shadowed by ambition and betrayal. Viewers who enjoyed Cheer, Pitch Perfect, or Glee will find a similar appeal in its mix of competition, polished performance, and personal drama, set in contemporary Los Angeles.
