## Synopsis

Locked Up: The Oasis (2020) is a Spanish crime drama series created by Iván Escobar for FOX España, a spin-off of the Spanish prison drama Vis a Vis. The story follows Macarena Ferreiro (Maggie Civantos) and Zulema Zahir (Najwa Nimri), who after years of robbing jewelers, banks and casinos together must be separated once they are locked up. Their partnership is tested as each adjusts to life behind bars, with the rivalries, shifting alliances and institutional pressures of the women's prison driving the narrative. Itziar Castro as Goya Fernández and Ana María Picchio as Ama Castro are among the principal figures in the prison's crowded social world. The series runs for a single eight-episode season, with each episode carrying a steady mix of confrontation, suspense and crime-driven tension. Its tone is gritty and tense, with an emotional undercurrent of loyalty and betrayal. Audiences drawn to women in prison dramas, serialized crime sagas and prison power struggles will find resonance in the vein of Orange Is the New Black and Oz, with the tangled criminal bonds recalling the heist-driven tension of Money Heist. Set in a contemporary Spanish prison, it lands as a dark, character-driven continuation of its parent series.
