## Synopsis

High School DxD (2012-2018) is a Japanese anime series produced by TNK and Passione and broadcast on AT-X, running four seasons and 49 episodes. Teenage pervert Issei Hyodo dreams of building his own harem, but his first date ends with him killed by a fallen angel, and he is revived as a devil servant of his gorgeous senpai Rias Gremory. Issei's engine is simple: he wants his lewd ambitions and a peaceful school life, while a steady stream of rival devils, angels and monsters keep dragging him into battle. Each episode mixes bawdy harem comedy with action-driven supernatural fights, with a growing cast that includes Asia Argento, Akeno Himejima and Koneko Tojo. The tone is raunchy and breezy, with fanservice jokes sitting alongside escalating power fantasy. Set in a modern Japanese town, the show is a fanservice-heavy shonen-style romp in the vein of Rosario + Vampire and Love Hina, and fans of those ecchi comedies will find familiar pleasures here. Its appeal lies in the chaotic chemistry between the lead and his devoted companions rather than in any grand mythology.
