## Synopsis

Date A Live (2013-present) is a Japanese anime science fiction romance series produced by AIC PLUS+ and J.C.STAFF and broadcast on AT-X and TOKYO MX, adapted from a light novel. Shido Itsuka, an ordinary high school student, is recruited after meeting Tohka Yatogami, a Spirit whose presence causes catastrophic spacequakes. To seal her power he must make her fall in love with him and kiss him, and each new Spirit he encounters raises the stakes. Voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shido and Marina Inoue as Tohka, the cast includes Misuzu Togashi as the cool, rigid Origami Tobiichi and Asami Sanada as the unsettling Kurumi Tokisaki. Each season pairs flirtatious school-life comedy with mecha-assisted battles and fan-service moments, tracking a growing cast of romantic interests across five seasons spanning 2013 to 2024. The tone blends earnest romance, playful banter and escalating action, with a fantasy premise rooted in a modern Japanese city. Fans of High School DxD, Kiss x Sis and Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai will find the same mix of harem comedy and supernatural stakes. The series has a mixed audience reception.
