## Synopsis

Löwenzahn (1981-2026) is a German children's educational series created by Peter Lustig for ZDF, running for 45 seasons and an ongoing episode count of 472. Each half-hour episode is built around a single everyday subject, from the postal service to larger technological and industrial systems, and is broken into short featurettes that explain, explore and demonstrate how things work. Peter Lustig (Peter Lustig) anchors the show as the curious host, joined by Guido Hammesfahr as Fritz Fuchs and Helmut Krauss as Hermann Paschulke, whose everyday encounters give the segments a grounded, friendly frame. Because the format is anthology-like, viewers can dip into any episode without needing prior context. The tone is warm, earnest and gently playful, with an emphasis on patient curiosity and hands-on discovery rather than spectacle. Its approach resembles the explanatory warmth of Sesame Street and the science-for-children tradition of Bill Nye the Science Guy, and fans of those shows will find a similar sense of wonder here. Set in present-day Germany, it treats ordinary life as worth examining closely, making it a long-running staple of German family viewing.
